With notes of toasted walnut and cocoa powder, this coffee is smooth and rich, with good body and a gentle acidity. It is roasted dark to emphasize its smokey notes.This coffee is produced by Finca La Soledad, a small Rainforest Alliance certified farm located in the tranquil Acatenango Valley of Guatemala. La Soledads pristine landscape, high altitude and superior farming practices all contribute to producing this wonderful specialty coffee.To maintain its Rainforest Alliance certification, La Soledad adheres to stringent environmental, labour and community standards. The benefits of certification are evident throughou the farm: children are educated, farmers are paid an equitable wage for their work and wildlife and the environment are protected. As well, the farm has devised a method for composting their coffee cherry pulp - an organic material that would otherwise to to waste - to fertilize their avocado grove
